Welcome to Western New York Romance Writers!

Western New York Romance Writers (WNYRW) is a chapter of the non-profit organization Romance Writers of America (RWA). Our members are also members of RWA, an international organization that boast about 10,000 members worldwide.

Our goal is to promote excellence in romantic fiction, to help writers become published and establish careers in their writing field, and to provide continuing support for writers within the romance publishing industry.

We are made up of authors at every stage in their career, from unpublished to multi-published authors. Whether you’re just starting your career, or have been at it for a while, you’ll find a home at WNYRW. Our monthly meetings and workshops are a comfortable place for all our authors to come together and share their experiences with the constantly changing world of publishing.

We’d love to have you come out to a meeting. We have members joining us from all areas of Western New York, from Rochester to Niagara Falls and as far south as Erie, Pennsylvania! Interested writers are welcome to attend two meetings before joining WNYRW. We hope to see you soon!

Our next meeting

January 19, 2019 – Why Novelists Should Avoid New Year’s Resolutions

Been putting off making a New Resolution? Congratulations! Procrastination has finally paid off! Learn the brain science behind why resolutions rarely work and what you should do instead. Workshop attendees will be awarded brain stress balls.

Rosanne Bane is a semi-retired creativity coach and author of Around the Writer’s Block: Using Brain Science to Solve Writer’s Resistance and Dancing in the Dragon’s Den. In more than 25 years teaching at the Loft Literary Center, University of St. Thomas, University of Minnesota and other adult education programs, she has given thousands of writers the tools to bust through blocks, build effective writing habits and achieve their writing dreams and goals.

All meetings are held in the Community Room at Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus at 2605 Harlem Rd., Cheektowaga, NY.
